LEGAL NOTICE
The Portage Township Board of Zoning Appeals hereby gives notice that a public hearing will be held Thursday, August 27, 2026 at 6:30 p.m. at the Portage Township Hall, 2501 State Rd., Port Clinton, Ohio.
A variance request (No. BZA2026006) by Barry & Mary Jo Cover, 3174 E Shore Dr., Port Clinton, OH known as and being Lot 96 and W 10 feet of Lot 97, Mauna Loa Subdivision, Portage Township, Ottawa County, OH and known as 3174 E. Shore Dr. The request is to allow an increase in height variance to 28 feet in lieu of the permitted 20 feet and reduce the setback from the existing structure to 3 feet in lieu of the required 5 feet for the construction of an accessory structure. See Section 801.01 of the Portage Township Zoning Resolution.
Review of the application is available at the Portage Township Hall, Zoning Inspector Office, Mondays 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Thursday 8:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.
