NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

The Portage Township Board of Zoning Appeals hereby gives notice that a public hearing will be held Thursday, November 21, 2024 at 6:30 p.m. at the Portage Township Hall, 2501 State Rd., Port Clinton, Ohio.

A variance request (No. BZA20007) filed by Kelsey Lodging LLC., Port Clinton Ohio and being a parcel of land in the NE ¼ of Section 35, Township 7 North and Range 17 East, Portage Township, Ottawa County, Ohio, containing approx. 4.938 acre of land known as 57 NE Catawba Rd., Port Clinton, OH. The request is to allow the placement of a monument sign for entering and exiting a hotel 15 feet from the edge of East Harbor Rd., Port Clinton, OH.

Review of the application is available at the Portage Township Hall, Zoning Inspector Office, Mondays 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Thursday 8:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.

PUBLIC NOTICE

The Portage Township Zoning Commission will hold a public hearing concerning a proposed zoning map amendment to the Portage Township Zoning Resolution, adopted 1989.  The hearing will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, November 20, 2024 in the Portage Township Community Hall at 2501 E. State Rd.  The zoning map amendment involves a parcel of land in Portage Township, Ottawa County, OH specifically known as being a parcel of land located in the NE ¼ of Section 2, Town 6 North, Range 17 East and being 1.470 acres of land more or less.    The applicant is Michael J Rickard, etal.  The rezoning request is from the “C-2″ General Commercial District to “R-1”  Low Density Single Family Residential District.   The proposed zoning map amendment may be viewed at the Portage Township Hall on Monday evenings from 5:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. or Thursday mornings from 8:30 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. or at the office of the Ottawa Regional Planning Commission, 315 Madison St., Port Clinton, OH from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, except holidays.  At the conclusion of the public hearing, the proposed zoning map amendment will be submitted to the Portage Township Trustees for their consideration.

PUBLIC NOTICE

The Portage Township Zoning Commission will hold a public hearing concerning a proposed text amendment to the Portage Township Zoning Resolution, adopted in 1989.  The hearing will be held at 5:45 p.m., Wednesday, November 20, 2024 in the Portage Township Hall located at 2501 E. State Rd.  The proposed text amendment is to add the definitions for Sign, Multi-prism Indexing; Sign, Off premise; Indoor Boat, Boat trailer, Board Cradle, Recreational Vehicle and Motor Vehicle Storage; enhance the definition of Setback; add additional criteria for waterfront accessory buildings, add item 814, development at airport; add additional requirements for Signs.  The proposed text amendment may be viewed at the Portage Township Hall on Mondays from 5:30-7:00 p.m. and on Thursdays from 8:30-10:00 a.m. or at the office of the Regional Planning Commission, 315 Madison St., Port Clinton, OH  43452 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, except holidays.

The Portage Township Board of Zoning Appeals hereby gives notice that a public hearing will be held Thursday, November 21, 2024 at 7:00 p.m. at the Portage Township Hall, 2501 State Rd., Port Clinton, Ohio.

A variance request (No. BZA2024006) by U-Haul Moving & Storage of Port Clinton, 2841 E Harbor Rd. Port Clinton, OH and known as and being a part of fractional Section 35, Town 7 North, Range 17 East, Portage Township, Ottawa County, OH being approximately 9.621 acres of land and known as 2841 E Harbor Rd.  The request is to allow the height of two (2) proposed mini storage buildings increased to forty-five (45) in lieu of the allowable thirty-five (35) feet.  See Section 507.04 of the Portage Township Zoning Resolution.
